Haruna Sugie
Born in Aichi, Japan, 1997
2019 Began working with oxygen burner at Khan Glass Works
2022 BFA in Glass, Department of Crafts and Industrial Design, Musashino Art University
2024 MFA in Glass, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts
Working primarily with the lampworking technique, which involves melting and shaping glass in the flame of an oxygen burner, she creates each piece entirely by hand.
Through materials such as glass and mirror, her work explores the boundaries between beauty and imperfection, interior and exterior, self and others—expanding personal introspection on the body and mind into a broader inquiry into existence and identity in contemporary society.

2024年 東京藝術大学大学院 美術研究科 ガラス造形研究室 修士課程 修了
酸素バーナーの炎でガラスを熔融・成形するランプワーク技法を用い、一点一点手作業で制作している。
ガラスや鏡といった素材を通して、内と外、自己と他者の境界を見つめ、
身体と心に関する個人的な内省から、現代社会における存在やアイデンティティの在り方へと思索を広げている。
