Tokyo University of the Arts The 72nd Graduation Works Exhibitions

This work begins by casting the artist’s own body, then reconstructing its form by layering sheets of glass along the mold and shaping them by hand during firing to create a mirrored surface.

The body is treated both as material and metaphor—through transforming its delicate and imperfect form, the work explores self-reflection and the potential for rebirth.

The mirrored surface captures surrounding landscapes and the gaze of others, revealing that even as form changes, one’s existence is continuously shaped through relationships with the environment and those around us.
